Welcome to our Governors' section
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.
The role of the governing body is a strategic one, individual governors may not act independently of the rest of the governing body and decisions are the joint responsibility of the governing body.
They have three key functions:
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
At Selborne there are 2 main committees: The Finance and Resources Committee which oversees the financial performance of the school, and the Curriculum Standards and Community Committee which oversees the educational performance of the school and its pupils and its links with the wider community.
The committees report back to the Full Governing Body which is responsible for ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
